We are a church of Christian believers of different ages, backgrounds and walks of life. We are united by our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The church was formed by the unification of two long-standing churches in Shepshed – Belton Street Baptist and the Evangelical Free Church on Kirkhill. 

In the Bible, Jesus is called the “Word of Life” and we chose our church name to reflect that fact and to indicate that He is the centre of our meetings and our life as Christians. We are Evangelical, Baptist and Independent in outlook.

Our Sunday worship together is at 10.30am and 6.00pm. We also meet on Thursdays for prayer or for small group Bible studies. You are very welcome to join us. Please click here for further details of our meetings.

There are two main purposes for our life together as believers: firstly, we seek to learn from the Bible. Secondly, we seek to live in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ and to make Christ known in the town.  Our great desire is that others might come to know and love Him too. We do this by preaching and teaching the “Good News” concerning Him and by seeking to live out the Gospel we profess.

We believe the whole Bible is the Word of God and is the only way we can come to know God and His Son, Jesus Christ, and understand the meaning and purpose of life. Click here for more about what we believe.
